What is a Recovery Support Group?

Recovery Support Groups provide a safe, confidential and compassionate space for people in the music community who are experiencing addiction challenges or are in recovery. Open to anyone at any stage of their journey, these weekly groups focus on emotional support, shared understanding, and practical tools to help participants achieve and maintain abstinence.

Launching on Tuesday 24th March, each free 90-minute session is non-judgmental and welcoming. Groups are led by Music Support staff and trained facilitators with lived experience.

Every other month, Norman Beecher, an Addiction Specialist and Hannah Brinley, a Learning and Development Specialist, will facilitate a two-hour workshop on the following topics:

  • What is Recovery? Tuesday 28th April
  • Coping With Triggers Tuesday 30th June
  • Self-care and Stress Management Tuesday 8th September
  • Relationships in Recovery Tuesday 27th October
  • Co-dependency Tuesday 15th December
  • Socialising Sober Tuesday 23rd February 2027
  • Managing Anger Tuesday 27th April 2027
  • Managing Performance Anxiety Tuesday 29th June 2027
